Linux Tools For Serious Photographers. Management based on ICC profiles courtesy of the LittleCMS software. Users of Linux had petitioned Adobe to make a Linux. Unzip the file and you will get the Adobe ICC Profiles folder containing two subfolders: RGB Profiles and CMYK Profiles Rename the folder as ColourProfiles and copy it to C: Program Files GIMP-2.0. Then in each of the sub-folders, right-click the color profiles of your choice and install them.
I am trying to convert a rgb image to cmyk using profiles I downloaded from the adobe website. The command I am using is as follow: convert Playbook.jpg -profile CoatedFOGRA27.icc cmykplaybook.jpg When I try to open the output image on photoshop, I get a error that it's impossible to use the ICC profile incorporated, because the profile ICC is incorrect.
The profile will be ignored. When I check the -verbose of the image using the identity command I get the colorspace as sRGB. I could see that the color profiles were added to the image. But I don't understand how adobe ps does it differently. Adding a -colorspace CMYK will change the colorspace from -sRGB to CMYK, but the results are not good.
The colors in the output are not even close to the real input. Please let me know if you need any info regarding the test done here. If your image is RGB colorspace and already has an (s)RGB profile, then your command would be correct assuming the profile is at the same locations as where you issue your convert command.
However, if the image has no profile already, then you need to use two profiles. First add an sRGB,icc profile, then add your CoatedFOGRA27.icc. What is your version of Imagemagick and on what platform? Is your input jpg RGB or CMYK? Can you post a link to your input image or at least show its identify -verbose information?
– Sep 24 '18 at 17:21. If it does not show in the verbose information, then there is not likely a color profile. You could post the verbose information for your input, if you want me to review it.
So you should only need to use one CMYK profile to convert from RGB to CMYK. If you post your image, I can try to convert it using the profile.
NOTE that in Imagemagick 7, you should not use magick convert. Simply use magick. What is your Imagemagick version and platform?
In your new command you stripped any icm profiles, but you could have an icc profile. – Sep 25 '18 at 16:09.
